Harvard, MIT Sue Trump Administration Over New Rule For Foreign Students

Harvard University along with MIT has filed a plea in the US District Court in Boston seeking a temporary restraining order prohibiting enforcement of the order by the Trump administration that directs international students in the US who do not attend in-person classes should leave the country. “We will pursue this case vigorously so that our international students—and international students at institutions across the country—can continue their studies without the threat of deportation, Harvard President Lawrence S. Bacow said in a statement on the University site. “For many of our international students, studying in the United States and studying at Harvard is the fulfillment of a lifelong dream. These students are our students, and they enrich the learning environment for all,” he wrote. “We fervently hope that, before long, the circumstances that necessitate online learning will pass.   A video from Punjab which became viral in June showed a newly married woman—wedding bangles (chooda) on her wrists—taking drugs. She put a lighted candle below a foil and snorted what was thought to be chitta—Punjab's notorious synthetic drug made from heroin and other substances. The video indicates that Punjab's drug problem is not restricted to the typical demographic of unemployed youth. It is rampant across divides such as class, gender, age and geography. No wonder, the Punjab government recently ordered all its employees to undergo drug tests.
